Visit us in the southwest entrance of the Illini Union on Monday, February 13th and Tuesday, February 14th from 10AM to 4PM to buy a ceramic rose! These roses will never wilt, and they start at $3!
Keramos has many exciting events planned for the semester starting tomorrow, January 22nd! Details about upcoming events can be found on our calendar.
January 22nd: OriginPro Workshop (exclusively for Keramos members) – Learn the basics of OriginPro, a powerful data analysis and graphing program.
January 25th: General Meeting – Vote on a theme for MatSE EOH 2017 and get your resume reviewed before the career fair!
A bonus 1/2 attendance point for the “other events” category can be earned by completing one of the following surveys (limit 1/2 point per member per semester).
Workshops and Events
Spring 2016 initiates must complete their attendance requirements by the end of reading day (12/8). Initiates are required to attend 4 cumulative hours of Play with Clay and 4 cumulative hours of other events. Check out our calendar for an up-to-date list of upcoming events.
Course Feedback Session
The semiannual MA course feedback session will be hosted this Saturday (12/3) from 1pm to 2pm. Everyone is invited to share comments and suggestions about their MSE courses – food will be provided! Feedback gathered at this session is shared directly with the department.
Finals Review Session
Keramos and Material Advantage upperclassmen will be available on reading day (12/8) from 2pm to 4pm to answer any questions you may have about your exams. Snacks will be provided!
There may only be a few weeks left in the semester, but we still have plenty of events planned!
Now through November 28th, we will be hosting a food drive, benefiting the Eastern Illinois Foodbank. A donation box for non-perishable items is located in 322 Ceramics. The Engineering Council society that collects the most food (by weight) will win an exciting prize!
Be on the lookout for the biannual course feedback session and finals review session, as well as a special weekend Play with Clay session.

Hopefully you all had an exciting and relaxing summer, whether you interned at a company, researched with a professor, took classes, watched movies, or enjoyed the beautiful weather!
This upcoming year, Keramos has planned a variety of social and professional events for fellow MatSE’s to be more involved with the department and community. Events start THIS WEEK, so check your schedules, and we can’t wait to see you there!
MSE 307 Tutorial Session
Keramos will host a tutorial that will include lab writing techniques for MSE 307, data analysis basics (Excel, Matlab, Origin), lab report structure, general writing tips, and a list of things to do (and not to do). Today, 8/28, from 6:00-7:15 PM in Ceramics 218 and Wednesday 8/31 from 7:00-8:15 PM.
Engineering Career Fair
The Engineering Career Fair is already here, next week, September 7th and 8th. To help you prepare, Keramos is hosting an internship panel this Thursday in the Ceramics building Room 218. Also be sure to attend the Resume Review Workshopand first Matse Mentorship event of the year in Ceramics 218 on Tuesday, September 6th.
Meet up with old and new MatSE’s at the MatSE BBQ on Saturday, September 10th from 12pm to 3pm at the Illini Grove Pavilion. Free food will be served!
