Play with Clay

Play with Clay is an event hosted each week by the Keramos Heralds in the basement of the Ceramics Building. New initiates are required to attend at least four cumulative hours of Play with Clay.

At Play with Clay, Keramos members can create both decorative and functional ceramic items. We have an extensive collection of plaster slip-casting molds as well as a potter’s wheel. Some of our more popular items include pigs, fish, and plates. In the past, members have even made gravy boats and mugs.

We encourage members to be creative. Suggestions for new molds and glazes are always welcome. Come to the next Play with Clay session to make an item, socialize, and have fun! Refer to the events calendar on the Keramos Illinois home page to find out when the next Play with Clay session is.
